Duchess of Edinburgh 'disheartened' by death of lady hit by police escort
Helen Holland, 81, who passed on in the wake of being hit by a police cruiser accompanying Sophie, the Duchess of Edinburgh, through London has passed on.
The group of 81-year-old Helen Holland, from Birchanger in Essex, said she battled "for her life for almost fourteen days... be that as it may, irreversible harm to her cerebrum at last finished the fight".
Buckingham Castle said the duchess was "profoundly disheartened" and sent her "most profound sympathies" to all the family.
The police guard dog is examining the accident.
Ms Holland had been in London visiting her sister when she was struck at the intersection of West Cromwell Street and Warwick Street in Lord's Court on 10 May.
Following the accident, her family said she was in a trance like state, and on Friday the police said she stayed in a basic condition.
Declaring her demise, her child, Martin Holland, said his mom had kicked the bucket in the wake of "experiencing numerous messed up bones and enormous interior wounds".
Sophie, who acquired the title of Duchess of Edinburgh when her better half Sovereign Edward took on another job in Spring, will reach out secretly with Ms Holland's loved ones.

Boss Supt Richard Smith, top of the Metropolitan Police's Sovereignty and Expert Insurance Unit, said the "awful result is being felt by associates across the Met" and "considerations are especially with the lady's family and friends and family".
"Officials know that their activities, both on and off the clock, are available to examination and following our reference of the occurrence, the IOPC sent off an autonomous examination - we proceed to co-work with and support that request," he said.
The Autonomous Office for Police Lead (IOPC), which explores the most serious occurrences including officials, said its request was "at a beginning phase".
It gave an observer request last week and said it "might in any case want to hear from any individual who saw or recorded any piece of this episode who is yet to address us".
The guard dog likewise said it had been in contact with Ms Holland's family to make sense of its job and would keep them refreshed on the examination.
The duchess has as of late gotten back from a two-day visit to Iraq's capital Baghdad where she met the nation's chiefs and visited a young ladies' school to hear from students about their schooling.
